Back in January ‘12 I started remixing local Montreal bands and soon after created a project to share these called Camp Fortune (named after a Gatineau ski hill).
This new band is live at L’Envers (185 Van Horne) on Sunday May 20 as part of the One Man Band Fest. This is the last CF show for the summer till (fingers crossed) POP Montreal and/or Halifax Pop Explosion.
Charlotte Cornfield recently received an award from the ‘Awesome Foundation’ to create on-demand-Montréal-oriented songs over the summer. I’ll be helping with the sound recording for this project.
Her idea is to write a song every week for a few months inspired by ideas submitted from friends and fans. Check out the video we made together last January at café Fuchsia.
Soft Gun is a feature length film that I recently finished working on, here’s the teaser! I did the ADR, foley, edit, mix, and helped with song selection and composition.
Saxsyndrum, my duo, recently released some new music.
It’s available as ‘PWYC’ but you can also type in $0.00 to get it for free. Physical copies are available at Phonopolis record shop and at shows.
We’re performing live next with Goose Hut and Sea Oleena at Divan Orange on May 23rd, presented by Passovah. This will be the last Saxsyndrum show till August.
We leave in a month to Uganda where I’ll be documenting her McGill/NatGeo field research. Click on the header to read her profile, she’s a smart cookie.
I’ve been recording shows for the HOWL! music series in Montreal over the past year or so at various venues around town and the performances are consistently inspiring. Here’s a track from Sala Rossa by local musician Jen Reimer and sound artist/prior-class-mate of mine Max Stein.
I have more recordings from the HOWL! series, shows featuring Jason ‘Blackbird’ Selman, Nick Keupfer, Les Momie des Palerme, Sarah Pagé, & Julia Kent.
And come to O Patro Vys on Sept. 11, Dave and I will be testing out a bunch of new material (sampling Miles Davis, Christopher Walken, and more!). Armen at the Bazaar and Inlet Sound are opening the eve round 9pm.
